Safety Note: Trimming Pad Style Monopole Electrodes

Recently I have been made aware of two instances of pad style monopole electrodes cauing problems in the form of arcing.

The first was when as small 25mm pad-style electrode that wasn't very sticky that touched a metal electrode causing a huge drop in resistance with caused the edge of the pad to actually start to heat up, smolder and then catch fire. The image below shows that pad. The moral of this one is keep your electrodes seperated.

The second what when a pad that had been cut down arced and caught fire while fitted to the user's glans (eek). It looks like too much of the conductive wire was trimmed away, so please ensure that when trimming pads, you don't trim off too much.
