Dark Secret - 1.7 Inch Silicone Ball Gag with Leather Buckle Straps Review

Delivery and packaging

This product arrived along with several others together in a very plain box. The outer packaging was discreet, and everything was packed with care. All of the products were wrapped in bubble wrap to give it that little bit of extra protection on its journey here.

I really like the branding of the Liebe Seele range of products.

Adjustment Holes: 10.The Dark Secret Ball Gag comes in a high-quality black cardboard box with a white cardboard sleeve around the centre of the box. This carries a picture of the ball gag and text in Japanese (so I have an idea of what it says, unfortunately).

Inside, the Dark Secret Ball Gag came wrapped in black glossy tissue paper which was held together with a simple sicker with the Liebe Seele logo on it. A little card in the box told you all about the gag and how to care for it, which was nice to find.

Joanne and I were also both very delighted with how quickly the package arrived; it was on her doorstep within seven days of dispatch from Japan. To say that we were more than impressed would be an understatement.

One of the things I liked the most about the packaging from Liebe Seele is that if you remove the white sleeve, then the black box becomes a very discrete way of keeping/storing your gag.

This is a very sleek and stylich looking ball gag.

I also like how clean and straightforward Liebe Seele packaging is, and at the same time, it is perfect for the product.

I also like that the text and pictures are more prominent on the packaging. It's nice to see a BDSM company consider this as I have some eyesight problems.

Materials and design

The gags ball is made out of food-grade Silicone which is non-toxic, latex and phthalate-free. The side straps are made out of thin black leather, fastened with a buckle made out of a gold coloured metal.

The silicone ball is very nicely sized and so comfortable to bite down upon.

The leather strap has ten different sizing holes so that it can be as loose or as tight as you want or need it to be. At the end of the leather strap, the Liebe Seele logo is embossed.

The stitching is neat with nice tight black stitching, which compliments the gag's look and straps.

The silicone ball is held onto the leather strap by two gold metal 'D'-rings, which are a nice feature. Two gold coloured rivets used to secure the straps in place give it a classy look.

I would only change the Dark Secret Ball Gag design by adding a locking post to the gold buckle. I love to be locked into restraints and feel it would make it more submissive to wear it, but that is just my own personal preference.

The silicone ball is very nicely sized and so comfortable to bite down upon.

Performance

The Dark Secret Ball Gag is very comfortable to wear for long periods without giving you jaw ache, which is a massive bonus as I love sessions of being gagged.

I have tried a lot of ball gags in the past; most give me a terrible jaw ache after only wearing them for about 20 minutes.

It can be as loose or as tight as my Master and Mistress wants or needs it to be with ten different size settings. The number of varying size settings is a lot more than I usually get with other ball gags I have tried or worn in the past.

This is probably the most comfortable ball gag that I have worn.

But there is one problem. I have noticed that the edging of both leather straps is starting to crack after only a handful of uses.

It detracts from an otherwise faultless product that I really like.

Liebe Seele - Action - I mentioned this problem to Liebe Seele who asked for more information and images of the problem. They have done an investigation and identified the problem as the sealing agent that they use to seal the edges of the strap. This is being changed and it is good to know that they listened to the problem and are taking steps to rectify the issue.

I found the silicone used for the ball gag is very flexible. This makes the ball gag a lot more comfortable to wear. I can chomp down on it slightly, which helps relieve my cheek muscles.

The ball gag is made from food-grade platinum cure silicone, making cleaning and looking after your ball gag exceptionally easy.

I would very highly recommend using antibacterial wipes for a quick clean. Just use hot water and soap to clean it between uses.

I like the Dark Secret Ball Gag because I can keep biting down on the ball, making sure I can keep exercising my mouth, and this means I can wear it for longer periods - bonus.

While wearing it, I love that I can't speak at all, which makes me feel very submissive and drool. I find it very humiliating and a turn-on; it puts me in my place.

Ball gags put me into a very submissive mindset and I love them for that reason.

I also find undoing and removing the ball gag very easy. This is reassuring because if I need to remove it quickly, I can.

I love the smell of leather that I get when it is fitted to me, which also helps get me into a playful mood.

Another thing I like about the Dark Secret Ball Gag is that the gold metal rings at the front can be used for bondage. I love having something attached to them like my cuffs, for instance, and other stuff as needed; this can give you some extra play options.

When I am not using my gag, I can keep it in its more than discreet packaging, which I find very helpful as I don't want other people knowing I have bondage toys. The black box is perfect for this.

Final Thoughts

I really like the Dark Secret Ball Gag. It has many great features, such as the ten size settings, which is more than most other ball gags I have used in the past.

Also, because I have a very small jaw, it makes it very hard to get a good quality ball gag that will fit me, so the fact that it fits me well is a huge plus point for me.

The one thing I have found that I don't like so much is the cracked edges on the strap. But, and this is a good thing, Liebe Seele have looked into the problem and are addressing it.

The Dark Secret Ball Gag is $39.95, so in my mind, it puts it in the middle of the pricing scale. Do I think it is worth it? My answer is both yes and no. If it weren't for the cracks on the strap, this would be the perfect ball gag, let's hope that the problem is addresses soon.

Out of 10, I will be giving the gag a 7.8 out of 10, but that's just my opinion.
