Silicone Insertable Electrodes? I wonder.....
I am looking to learn some new skills
So, I want to let you all in on a little secret. I am considering getting into the insertable electrode scene. By that, I mean body-safe silicone electrodes with metal electrode surfaces for excellent conductivity.
I am still in the planning phase, whether it is financially viable for me to get into producing low-volume but high-quality insertables. So far, I have made a name for myself due to my innovative 3D-printed electrode designs, and I am pretty good at what I do.
But here's the kicker: I've always wanted to make my insertables, but until recently, I had yet to decide what I wanted to make or how I could bring this dream to life.
Why would I want to make silicone insertable electrodes when the market already has lots to choose from?
Well, none of them combine my two loves. Firstly, e-stim, and that is covered, I admit, but I want a silicone insertable that would allow e-stim play when using a fucking machine or even a strap-on harness. That is not readily available with lots of options, the Komodo dildo from Electrastim does tick that box though.
I also believe that lots more can be done for anal insertables in terms of electrode options and configurations. I have some ideas, and tackling a massive project like this would allow me to explore those options.
My biggest problem will be costs. I cannot buy in bulk, and I also can't outsource production, although I will need to do that for some metal electrode surfaces I have in mind. Anything I make will be expensive due to material costs and time. This is a labour-intensive process, and on top of my current workload, it will tax me. So, my creations won't be cheap, but I hope they will bring something new and innovative to the market, and they will, like all of my other designs, tackle some of the shortfalls or problems we encounter when stimming.
Why is this such an expensive enterprise?
Let me give you some numbers; I will need to purchase several pieces of kit to do these electrodes.
Firstly, I will need a vacuum de-gassing chamber to remove bubbles from the catalysed silicone before adding it to the moulds. This is £199 for a chamber and vacuum pump. I may need to use a pressure vessel and compressor, too, but I hope to be able to get by without getting one unless I need to.
Secondly, I will need to purchase several silicone blends, one to make the sleeve moulds for the electrodes and others to experiment with to get the right hardness/softness balance in the designs. Small packs start at £25, and I will need several before considering buying in larger quantities to reduce costs.
I will need pigments; these will need to be body-safe, as will the silicone. I am going with Smooth-on silicones. It is expensive but the best and FDA-approved for direct body contact.
Then there is PPE, mixing equipment, consumables, and the list goes on and on.
That's before I even consider electrode surfaces, connecting wires and sockets, nuts, bolts, washers - you get the gist.
This will be a slow project to get off the ground without business loans or crowd-funding options.
Design Ethos
I want to experiment and produce a range of electrodes that satisfy the following criteria.
Dildo Type Electrodes
- Made from body-safe materials.
- Have metal electrode surfaces for excellent conductivity.
- Come in a range of colours and sizes.
- Be vac-u-lock compatible so they can be fitted to fucking machines or even a strap-on harnesses.
- Texture: lots of lovely texture to heighten sensations when thrusting.
- Bipolar electrode design.
Here is the design I am currently working on.
My design for a bipolar thrusting electrode that should be a lot of fun. The texture on the lower half makes a great hand hold.
Prostate Electrode
Made from body-safe materials.
- Have metal electrode surfaces for excellent conductivity.
- Come in a range of colours.
- Have six electrodes to choose from, four internal and two external ones.
- Broad base for safety.
Here is another design that I am currently working on.
Conclusion
So, I will keep everyone posted as I progress toward bringing something to market that will be a breath of fresh air. I will do so with my usual eye for a novel twist to how we play to spice things up.
I hope you have found this update informative and made you sit back and think about challenging the status quo. Experimentation and innovation are what drive things forward. Let me know in the comments down below what you think of my two concept designs.
It looks like @JoannesReviews is going to rock the boat again with another new range of e-stim electrodes, this time, insertables. Click to TweetAdditional Info
