The Lelo Sona Cruise comes in a beautiful retail box with a transparent window so that you can see the toy inside. When you open it and remove the contents, you will find the Lelo Sona Cruise, a charging lead, storage bag, a warranty card and some instructions together with a sample sachet of lube.
The first thing you should do is to give the Sona Cruise a full charge using the included charging cable. There is a socket at one end of the toy that you plug the cable in. I left mine charging overnight to give it a full charge but once you have done this, then an hours charge will provide you with an hour of play time which is fantastic.
The body of the Lelo Sona Cruise is made out of ABS with the working surfaces coated in soft silicone. This makes the toy phthalate free and hypo-allergenic. The back face of the toy is coloured gold, and this is an excellent offset to the pink silicone.
It has a shape similar to a pebble, and it fits nicely in your hand and is comfortable to hold in place while in use. The nozzle is not removable, and it is quite narrow compared with some of the other toys I have, but that doesn't affect its performance in any way.
The moving plate inside is covered by the exterior silicone coating, and this makes this end waterproof and easy to clean. I did worry that without being able to remove the hard silicone nozzle, cleaning would be a drama. In reality, though it is a simple task to clean it out, a cotton earbud will allow you to get everywhere, and it's simple to rinse it out.
Three buttons are located about 2"/5cm under the nozzle, and these are easy to reach and use when in operation. The middle button which features an up and down arrow stylised like a little vulva allows you to cycle through the eight resonation settings. The plus button controls the intensity of the sonic pulsations, and the minus button will enable you to reduce the sensations as you play. Being able to fine-tune the sensations as you play is excellent.
To turn the toy on you press and hold the plus button and to turn it off you press and hold the minus button. I found this a little weird at first as I thought pressing and holding the centre button would have done these two functions. But, once I got my head around it I found that it was simple to operate even when in the throes of a hard orgasm and you will be getting lots of those with the Sona Cruise.
While unboxing the toy I have to admit that while it's a lovely looking sex toy I wasn't that impressed. It looks like other clitoral toys on the market. However my first outing with it changed my thoughts about this toy, it's different and in a very good way.
If you read the manufacturers blurb it goes to great lengths to say that it doesn't actually suck. It uses sonic waves to stimulate your clitoris, and this means that is can stimulate 75% more of your clitoris than a standard vibe.
Now I have no way of confirming this figure but speaking for my clitoris it's delighted to have so much of it stimulated, and it's probably a pretty accurate figure.
I love clitoral suction vibes, and they get me off very quickly, but this one feels so different from the rest of the pack.
So how have Lelo done it differently from the other clitoral suction toys on the market? Well, their technology doesn't move air it uses sonic waves to give to deep sensations through your clitoris. I prefer to hold it over my clit, not actually in contact and it delivers deep waves through my clit that quickly has me clawing at the sheets. If I place it on my clit, the sensations are even stringer.
The Cruise part of its name is the cruise control feature that holds 20% of the power in reserve so that if you press it hard against your body, it can kick in to keep it going so you don't get a dead spot while playing which would ruin the moment. This feature will be a boom for some and a bust for others. The sensations you get when it kicks in are very profound and may be too much for some users but I liked them.
The settings are great, I like the pattern settings, but I can't go any higher than around half power as it's just so intense. I really like the way that the sensations are felt so deeply causing my vagina to clench tightly and due to its shape you can use the Sona Cruise with an insertable toy for double the fun. I particularly like playing this way and it's a very intense to bring yourself off.
The Lelo Sona Cruise is 3.9"/9.9cm x 3.5"/8.8cm x 2.2"/5.6cm and it is very smooth and rounded looking like a pebble. It's a very quiet sex toy, letting off a low buzzing hum that won't be heard on the other side of a bedroom door, and so it is a pretty discreet sex toy. It is the opposite of all the other clit toys out there though, when it's held over your clit it's very quiet. When you place it on your clit, it gets noisier as the cruise control tech kicks it and it then sounds a little rattly. The types of toys that move the air to give stimulation are loud until they make a seal and having the opposite happen here was an eye-opener for me.
The Lelo Sona Cruise is a fantastic clitoral massager and one that would be a great choice for someone looking for this style of sex toy. Click to TweetKey Features

Final Thoughts
I was very pleasantly surprised by the Lelo Sona Cruise, I was expecting just another clitoral suction vibe but what I got was a clitoral playground. It was like Christmas had come early for my clitoris, and I am still finding ways to get off with it.
I find that when playing with it, the stimulations get you so involved you enjoy the journey as well as the destination. It isn't a toy where you just go through the motions, it sucks you in and gives you a fantastic ride. That is why it is so much fun to use, it delivers very powerful orgasms, but the build-up is so much fun.
I'm not used to having so much of my clitoris stimulated, and it feels incredible. My other toys are not going to feel the same again.
I was sent the Lelo Sona Cruise by Lelo.com and I would like to thank them for giving me the opportunity to review it for them.
