Joanne's Office/Studio, A Quick Update

Written by  Feb 07, 2020

I have settled on my choice of office space and now need to move in

Well, I have finally settled on my new office/studio. I will be based in Derby in the midlands, and after looking over several options I have decided on a ground floor office (suitable for my disabilities), and I can't wait to move in.

This one is a little cheaper than the last one I checked out, and it is ever so slightly smaller. That means I have had to change my plans slightly to enable me to get the most out of the space.

This office space is heated (woohoo) and it also has air conditioning (WOOHOO!) which is a massive bonus as is the fact it is on the ground floor and pretty close to the main entrance of the building.

I am now waiting for the contract to sign before I get the keys and turn it into my Dildo Cave.

I have so much to sort out that it is almost overwhelming, but I am taking it one step at a time.

I spent today in bed (fibromyalgia pain) and used my laptop to work on a couple of reviews and also on some concepts as to how best to use the available space.

Here are a couple of pictures of the space I will be turning into Joanne's Lair.

Of more interest is, probably this rendering of a design I have come up with for the best use of the available space.

The room is long and relatively thin, and so I have to be creative in how I set up the studio end, but I like the look so far. What do you think?

I have lots of things to sort out, internet access, furniture, soundproofing, decor and of course the finest coffee and nibbles too. The coffee and nibbles are probably the highest priority, though.

I have decided to take lots of pics when I move in so that you all can be kept abreast of how it is going on and of course I will do a video introduction to it when I have it just how I want it.

Exciting times, so wish me luck and if any adult companies are reading this, feel free to send me anything you want displayed on the shelves or stickers for my laptop (who doesn't like free advertising LOL).

List of things to do:

  • Sign the contract and pay a fortune upfront (bugger)
  • Acquire studio furniture (sofa, bookcases, coffee table)
  • Build soundproof panels
  • Get a second 3D printer
  • Get a second monitor (for my laptop)
  • Set up internet/phone

Now that I have discovered TopCashBack.co.uk I should be able to save some money on the things I need to buy as it is also good for anything else as well as saving money when you buy sex toys. This means I can re-invest those savings into my work.

I will keep everyone posted as to how I get on, I have my fingers crossed that it will be a big success.
