Joanne Wants An Inclusive Dungeon Studio

Written by  Dec 17, 2019

I am going to fulfil a lifelong desire, to own my own dungeon/studio

I am planning something big, something huge. It will take me a while to realise it, but I am finally planning my next business step in lots of detail.

I want to build on the success of my review blog and my love of kink and BDSM. As a disabled writer, I am often frustrated with some of the commercial dungeons available for rent. Places that allow people to live out their fantasies are often unavailable to disabled folk.

I also need a writing space and studio where I can continue my product reviews and articles. Doing that at home is very restrictive, and I intend to change that.

I am going to channel my efforts into creating a dungeon space that is accessible to all. A place where anyone, no matter the level of their physical abilities, can visit and enjoy. It will also be a place where I can hone my writing and reviewing skills, even passing some of those skills on to people interested in them.

Andromeda studio

Image showing Andromeda chained to the rocksGreat name, eh? Why Andromeda and not something more BDSM'ish? Well, Andromeda is the name of the princess who was chained to a rock as a sacrifice to appease the Kraken in Greek mythology. In classical art, she was the first female to be depicted in chains of bondage. Can you see where I am going with this?

Why not call my dungeon studio after her. I think that it is a fitting name as I hope lots of maidens and men end up in chains and bondage within my dungeon.

Climbing a mountain

It is going to be a huge slog. I already have a business plan that I am continuously tweaking, and I am saving like mad to enable me to get started on this important project.

But, as you can imagine, it is going to be a slow project as what I am planning isn't going to be cheap. Just the rental aspect is scary, and that is before any internal work is carried out or equipment purchased.

Getting financial help from corporate institutions in a non-starter, I have had the door slammed in my face numerous times now due to this being a "dirty idea". Anything sexually-orientated is complicated to finance through traditional channels which is why it is having to be self-funded in the main.

It is like climbing a mountain, you take two steps forward and then slip back a step. But I do have time on my hands and will keep plodding along until I reach my goal.

A dungeon you say?

Yes, I want a fully equipped dungeon where people can explore, learn and fulfil their fantasies in private. I also want to be able to use it for kink photography as a studio, and this is a good thing.

I want facilities like a wetroom, darkroom, little play space and maybe even a pony play area.

It will also have chill space, where aftercare can be administered as well as a kitchen for snacks, drinks and cooking meals if needed (think munches).

Changing rooms, lockers, toilets and showers will also be needed for obvious reasons.

Office space

I badly need a place where I can work undisturbed, an area where I can field phone calls and do business without prying ears hampering me.

I want to have a small studio for product photographs and a storeroom too. Have you any idea how many sex toys a sex toy reviewer amasses?

Thought process

I am always tweaking my plans, but here is a very simple mindmap showing some of the problems and factors that I need to consider.

There is a lot to think about in a project of this size

As you can see, there are lots of factors under consideration, but I think the idea is tenable. It should be an excellent facility for the kink and vanilla community alike.

If anyone wants to chip in towards the project, then I am accepting donations in any form. Wealthy benefactors welcome LOL.

I am not begging for help, but it would be gratefully accepted.

Let me know in the comments form below if you think this is a good idea or not. Maybe you have some suggestions for extra facilities that you would like to see. It would be nice to hear from you.

I will keep everyone abreast of the project as it evolves here.
