Borosilicate glass is a type of glass with silica and boron trioxide as the main glass-forming constituents. Put simply, it’s a glass compound that is designed to be up to 10 times tougher than normal silica-based and soda-lime glass. Pyrex is the best known trade name of borosilicate glass.
